Maptitude for Redistricting Extension
for ArcGIS Now Available |
We have begun selling our new Maptitude for
Redistricting Extension for ArcGIS. The
extension brings the same redistricting
functionality, speed, and ease of use to the
ArcGIS desktop as native Maptitude for
Redistricting. The first site to begin using
the extension will be the New York State
Legislative Task Force on Demographics and
Reapportionment (LATFOR). The New York State
Legislature is already a major client of
ours with an installed base of 28 copies of
native Maptitude for Redistricting. The
Extension will be used by LATFOR staff who
are expert in ArcGIS and prefer to work with
that platform as their base. The pricing for
native Maptitude for Redistricting and the
Extension is the same.
We will be demonstrating our new Maptitude
for Redistricting Extension for ArcGIS at
the NCSL Annual Meeting in Louisville. To
arrange for a demo of the extension or
native Maptitude for Redistricting on Sunday
or Monday during the Redistricting Committee
Meeting, please contact Caliper Sales at
617-527-4700.

Planning to Adjust Your PL 94-171 Data to
Account for the Prison Population? Let Caliper
Do It For You |
Previously we announced the award of a contract
with the state of Kansas to adjust the federal
2010 Census Public Law 94-171 population data
and produce a set of adjusted population figures
for use in state legislative redistricting. We
will adjust the population figures to count
college students and military personnel at their
places of permanent residence. Such persons with
different current and permanent 2010 Census
block codes need to be updated. Caliper will
move each respondent from their current location
to their permanent location, updating all the
appropriate tables based upon their age, race
and Hispanic origin status. We are in
discussions with Maryland to adjust their
population counts based on prison population.
Please contact us if your state is planning such
an adjustment and you would like assistance. |
