Tech Tip:
Combining Maps
Maps are composed of different types of information and Maptitude organizes all of these map features into layers. When you create or work with a map, you choose the layers you want to see and decide how each layer should look. You can create a new map by mixing and matching the layers that appear in your open maps. For example, you may have American customers on a US map and Canadian customers on a Canada map, but you want to see a combined US/Canada map. The following steps walk you through this task: 1. Open two or more maps. 2. Choose Map-Combine Existing Maps. Maptitude displays the New Map window which lists the layers in your maps. 3. Type a name for your new map in the Map Name edit box. 4. Choose the layers you want to include in the new map from the Contents list. 5. Click OK. 6. If you chose Open Files from the list, Maptitude displays the Open Files dialog box. Choose one or more files and click Open. 7. Maptitude creates a new map with the combined layers you chose. |
