The latest iteration of the data includes hospital bed counts derived from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. The map below shows the largest hospital, in terms of number of beds, in each state. These range from 208 beds at Sheridan Medical Center in Wyoming to 2309 beds at Florida Hospital in Orlando, Florida. Also computed for each state is the number of beds per 1,000 population which ranges from a low of 1.8 in Oregon to a high of 4.1 in Mississippi.
